Planning A Self Portrait Session - Behind the Scenes

In my Previous Beadie Blog post we looked at learning from your mistake, or should I say mine. This week we are moving forward with the knowledge that we have learnt (and a Self timer) to Plan a new session. So get your notepad, pen and Sketchbook out and lets get planning.

So now I have set out a planning template for my next photography session. This can be applied to all your session not just self portraits. Self Portraits give you a fantastic opportunity to try and experiment with new things and that is exactly what I plan to do. Theme I have decided on the theme of "Book Nook". I'm leaning more towards a natural lighting fresh, bright and open tones. Research I am obsessed with Pinterest, click on the picture and you will be taking to my board where I have pinned photos that have inspired me and helped me develop my idea.

Set The Country is still in lockdown, so it is going to be a somewhat house bound session.

I've spent a good portion of time just looking at the space around me and trying to think different ways I could arrange and use it to create multiple looks. you'll see in the next section some of my ideas.

Write and Draw

It doesn't have to neat or pretty this is just one of the ways I generate my ideas. Final touches Now I'm not a massive fan of Photo-shopping people. Sets however are something I would love to learn and progress in, more just for fun than for Clients. So I've decided that I am going to use a mixer of props and Photoshop to achieve to look I'm after. To do this already know that I want to improve my skills and get better. With the internet at my finger tips, there is really no excuse. Below is just one of the links I looked at.

Lock down is slowly lifting here in UK and soon we will be out in the world again. Take the time we have left of before going back into a hectic world to enjoy learning new thing and improving your practice.
